“The way I’m living my life is because I want a thousand lives. I want a thousand different lives before I die, to experience everything, to be everything. Even if it means failing everywhere. So if I have one year to live, it will have to be a different life everyday.” -EF

This episode features the shows first French guest, Etienne Forestier. He is from the south of France in Aix-En-Provence. Robert wanted to practice his French (as he used to be fluent years ago) and enjoys practicing any chance he gets; however the tables turn and Etienne got to practice his English.

“I represent my country, my country doesn’t represent me.” -EF

Etienne’s title aboard this cruise ship is as ‘Stage Staff’. He works behind the scenes on a variety of simple and silly tasks. Things that help make the ‘magic happen’ but can be a tad mundane to a man who cultivates and is fuelled by ideas. Etienne is a director and filmmaker.

“The way it happens is I get a new idea, it is something that fills me with excitement, adrenaline, I’m all over it.” –EF

It is interesting how Etienne claimed to be the cliché of a French person, but Robert found him to have so many elements of surprise in his answers. Perhaps being a creative opens ones capacity to be mainstream, yet the furthest from all at the same time. He is a very motivated man yet is ‘all over the place’. Clear minded, rich in expression, yet full of paradoxes.

“It’s kinda unconsciously but also on purpose.” –EF

Etienne was the first guest to be asked the new question regarding Success which he answered quite profoundly. He had no issue challenging Robert with some questions not being clear or making sense to how he saw that particular theme or topic. It was funny how at times he just laughed at Robert. He is in a place of honouring his freedom and independence. Two great things with his strength being his power of imagination.

“I have strong convictions, ideas, opinions, yet I’m still on the path of learning and it’s changing everyday.” –EF

“It’s also important to say, when it’s shit, it’s shit.” –EF

The theme of this ‘WeeklyQuest’ is CAREER. Try to get fired for no reason. Try to do something inappropriate but funny and see what happens. Make sure you hold the character. Don’t apologize. The world is absurd. What you are doing is absurd, so just try something.
